Fish ConTroll
With Hurley Marine’s new Fish ConTroll, avid anglers can focus on one thing while out on the water:  The next big catch.  The Fish ConTroll acts as a fisherman’s cruise control, maintaining boat speed based on desired hook speed while trolling.

To consistently catch fish you need to know lure speed, sub-surface temperatures and depth.  That’s what the Hurley Fish Con-Troll™ does and more.  It will maintain boat speed, in all conditions, at your desired lure speed depending upon your preferred fish species to make for precision trolling.

The Fish ConTroll ™ relays important speed information from the downrigger ball to the angler and the kicker motor to maintain lure speed. When trolling against the current, the angler must slow the boat down to keep the lure working at optimal speed; trolling with a current, the angler needs to speed up, the Fish ConTroll™ does this for you.

If the FishHawk™ system is installed […]

The Dish on Davits

By |January 1st, 2016|Categories: Captain's Log, Tips & Techniques|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |Comments Off on The Dish on Davits

Davits – Helpful Questions when looking for a Davit
Todd Hurley of Hurley Marine explains how the right davit makes loading your dinghy a breeze.

What are the benefits of bringing a tender aboard using a davit?

Hurley: Instead of towing a dinghy behind your craft, you easily can bring it aboard to eliminate performance-robbing drag. The low-profile storage position on Hurley Davits provides exceptional stern visibility.

What factors should be taken into consideration when choosing a davit?

Hurley: Platform and dinghy measurements, as well as weight, should be kept in mind. We advise choosing the best davit for your boat and letting that dictate your choice of dinghy. Remember that dinghy size and weight may impact trim, performance and the structural integrity of your vessel. While some boat owners get around this by towing their dinghy, it’s neither safe nor practical.

Are davits hard to install?

Hurley: Hurley Davits are easily mounted with simple hand tools, even when the vessel is in the water.

Is it difficult to remove a […]
